Kumho tires and information.

September 1960 saw the birth of Samyang Tire, the predecessor of today's Korea-based KUMHO Tire. In those days, outdated technology and a shortage of facilites forced the company to produce tires through manual labour. At the end of the '60s, KUMHO poured energy into building its Songjung Plant. With this new facility, combined with new ties to UNI Royal of the USA, KUMHO caught up in technology, entered the world marketplace and continued to grow throughout the ‘70s. KUMHO survived the political turmoil of the 1980s, and business soared in the 1990s and into the 21st century.

Kumho makes tires for passenger cars, light trucks/SUVs, and commercial trucks. Passenger car tires are divided into eight categories, or series of tires.
